Having that variety is good. If it is like me, just having something different in the same job is a lot more rewarding and helps break the brain out of the same cycle.PatrickWedgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03041782527066455082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4522669033149067776.post-43836455202117039242010-02-09T12:51:58.553-08:002010-02-09T12:51:58.553-08:00Mark Irwin was inking Aliens. When deadlines started approaching, I was called in to help out so inking duties was spread between Javier and myself.

Javier does pencil in that rough style. Like I mention, he draws for himself leaving out details so he'll go back and do it in the inking stage. When deadlines approached, Pencils were sent to me from that same penciling stage. There were a pages I got where hands and faces weren't drawn in. Only names of the characters establishing who that figure was. I did ask the editor is he wanted me to mimic Javier's inks. He said just have fun with it, which I did.

Inking Javier's pencils was great fun especially once I got the feel for his work.Walden Wonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14625909600298286651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4522669033149067776.post-70366155404272668402010-02-09T12:26:11.348-08:002010-02-09T12:26:11.348-08:00Does Javier still pencil in that rough style or le...Does Javier still pencil in that rough style or leave things open? I know I saw some of his pencils back in the Ghost Rider days when Tex was inking him and that was a wild combination. Tex would just go in there and attack the layouts and render the hell out of everything.

You approach is still rendering but adding that slicker style to it. Pretty darn good stuff there.

And were you helping Irwin on these pages? Guess I thought he was the inker on this title.PatrickWedgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03041782527066455082noreply@blogger.com
