GOTHAM CITY SIRENS: STRANGE FRUIT

Hardcovers Grephic Novels of Gotham City Sirens: Strange Fruit.
This reprints some of the work I've done for Gotham City Sirens #17 and #19.  In stores now!

WONDER WOMAN #613

On the left is the regular cover (by Lee Garbett) and the variant cover on the right (by Alex Garner).
Helped out on six pages.  It's a Wonder Woman vs. Wonder Woman story where I've inked over Travis Moore's pencils.
Original Wonder Woman vs. the Wonder Woman in the new outfit.
The new Wonder Woman outfit here has pants.  Currently in the DC Universe, she's moved on to wearing shorts.
Wonder Woman #613 is in stores now.

DEADPOOL #42

Here's the cover to Deadpool #42.
Cover art: Dave Johnson
My name is spelled incorrectly in this issue.  "WaldOn" with an 'o' instead of the correct way,  Walden with an 'e'.  I don't get how that happens.  My name was mispelled in issue #40, then it was correctly spelled in issue #41.  Now it's back to the same mispelling in #42.  The credit page must have been manually adjusted as each comic goes into publication.

Now onto the inks where I've inked over the talented Carlo Barberi.

Round 3, fight!!!  Nah... that number 3 just represents the cell number in the story.

I like the sparks effect that's coming out of Deadpool's head in panel 1.  Reminds me of how Arthur Adams draws his sparks.
Now on to another page, from Pencils, to inks, to colors and letters....
Pencils: Carlo Barberi.
Inks: Walden Wong
Colors: Ferran Daniel
Letters: VC's Joe Sabino

OUTSIDERS: THE GREAT DIVIDE tpb

Got a trade paper back comp copy for Outsider The Great Divide.  I blogged about the original comic release here where I've inked just a few pages over Keith Giffen's pencils...  Three pages actually.  It's always a nice surprise to also get a comp for only inking three pages in the whole lot.

In stores now and more info here.

This marks the last issue of TITANS before the DC Comics' relaunch.

I lost count of all the characters that i had to ink on this page.  A majority of the DC Characters are in there.
Here's a sequence from pencils to inks to colors...

DEADPOOL #41

Deadpool #41 is out where I inked over Carlo Barberi's pencils.
Here's some of the inks as usual.

Splash page.  Majority of this was done in brush.

One of  the more detailed pages.  More micron and technical pen work here because of all the tiny details.

Then we have this page which is a nice combination of brush, quill, and pen.

BATMAN #712

Box of comps for Batman #712
There were two pencillers for this issue, Steve Scott and Andy Smith.  I was asked to help out on this issue with a deadline cruch.  Some pages were inked over original pencils while others were done in blue line.
Riddler splash page over Steve Scott's pencils.

Double page spread over Steve Scott.

Splash page over Andy Smith.

Interior page over Andy Smith.

TITANS #37

Here's my box of comps for Titans #37
Inked half the issue over Travis Moore's pencils.

Great times working on this splash page.

Credit No Credit

When I write "Credit No Credit", it reminds me how some colleges offers "Credit/No Credit" in lieu of grades.  Either you get the credit, or you don't.

Every now and then after I worked on a book, my name would be left out when it's published.   Here's another of those books where it happened again.  It's for Thor #620.1 which I blogged about here when it was originally released.  Recently, I got the comps and notice the missing credit.
Here's the credits.  Ironically, it's right on the bottom of the splash page I've inked.
Interestingly enough, my name was still on the comp list for the work because I was sent these comics.  Tickles me every time.

DEADPOOL #40

Cover: Dave Johnson
Pencils: Carlo Barberi
Inks: Walden Wong
Colors: Ferran Daniel
Letters: Joe Sabino
Here's the credits from this issue.  My first name is misspelled with an "O".  A common mistake that happens every now and then.  The good news is that my last name is spelled correctly.  I can't say much for the Colorist as his last name was replaced with mines.

Month of comps

It's been a while since I posted.  This is what happens to the new comps packages when I'm not up to speed with the blog postings...
It's about a month worth of comps from Marvel and DC.  Some packages aren't even opened yet.  And believe it or not, right before I took this picture, the door bell rang with yet another package.

Here's another action figure toy packaging that I've worked on.  Mattel is going to be releasing this as a San Diego Comic Con exclusive.  Sold exclusively from Toys "R" Us at the Entertainment Earth booth #2343.  Here's a image of the action figure two pack...
My black & white inks over Bob McLeod's pencils.  DC Universe's Bizarro...
 Masters of the Universe's Faker...
Finally, Snake Mountain, which is also used as a backdrop inside the action figure packaging as well as the mini-poster that's included with the action figures.
