Ape Avengers Comp Copies

Received some comp copies from Marvel today. A Marvel Apes Trade Paperback that I did some work on. Not bad... Inked a few pages and I still get the whole trade paperback.
And three copies of Dark Reign Young Avengers which I also lent my inks on. Pages opened to the few that I worked on.
They're all out in stores now.

  1. didn't know comic books employed a tag-team approach to inking--why not just have you do all of 'em? too much work?

  2. In some case, there is a tag team process due to deadlines. When a deadlines creeps up and publishers need to get a book done on time before shipping, they'll employ more artist to finish the art quicker. I've seen as much as 5 inkers on a book. When I'm only working on a few pages, that's usually me helping other inkers out on their deadline. I'm always able to work with my deadlines. Unless, of course, the penciller falls behind on time (eating up some of the inkers time) and the editor needs to book to be split between inkers to get it done quick.

  4. Yeah. Same deal with any publishers. It's especially nice when I only ink one page. :)

  6. That's a good questions. Majority of the time it's 2 or 3. But one? I would say a hand full. Not much. How about you?

  7. I don't recall exactly, but maybe one...? and I wouldn't even recall what issue. I have done several with 2-3, though.
